History of ChhuikhadanChhuikhadan once served as a capital of Chhuikhadan kingom. This was a very small kingdom formed during mid 18th century. Although for most people actual history of this kingdom continues to remain mysterious and obscure, but there does exist few authenticated information about Chhuikhadan kingom. The first and most authenticated information being that Mahant Rup Das was first king of Chhuikhadan kingdom. But most important and notable information to know is that this small kingdom was soon reduced into a small princely state. First under Marathas and then under British. Mahant Ritu Purna Kishor Das was last king of this princely state. He formerly abolished this princely state after signing accession treaty with Union of India on 1 February 1948.
Economy of ChhuikhadanDue to its highly underdeveloped economy Chhuikhadan continues to depend on traditional agricultural sector for its sustenance. Local agricultural sector here is also productive enough to lend reliable livelihood to substantial numbers of locals here. Talking about other sectors, then industrial sector and service sector have a very, very minimal presence here. Few industries that do operate here mainly constitute of small scale cottage industries. They obviously generate very marginal employment for locals here. However, significant numbers of Chhuikhadan’s locals are employed in many factories and industries operating in neighboring towns like Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon and Durg.Overall, Chhuikhadan is still a very backward economy and therefore it still overtly has to depend on agriculture for its economic needs.

Transportation in ChhuikhadanSituation on front of transportation services is equally not a very satisfactory one. There are just decent numbers of auto rickshaws plying across Chhuikhadan. These decent numbers of auto rickshaws are solely responsible for taking care of local transportation here. There is no city bus service or private cab service available here. Coming to connectivity, then few state run buses do connect Chhuikhadan town to many of the adjoining towns and villages. However, Chhuikhadan does not have a railway station of its own. The nearest railway stations are Dongargarh Railway Station and Durg Railway Station.
Safety and Security in ChhuikhadanChhuikhadan does have a police station to tackle any lawlessness or any major law and order problems here. This town does not even suffer by naxal problems as such, which is very much prevalent in many other parts of Rajnandgaon District.
